Tournaments provide a great opportunity for students to challenge themselves, gain confidence, and have fun all at the same time. We encourage ALL students to participate in as many events as you can. There will be 10 events for students of all ages and rank to participate in. Please view the Tournament Registration Form here http://www.dendamartialarts.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Tournament-Registration-Form.pdf for detail on all the events. We only do these tournaments twice a year (spring & fall) so don’t miss this chance to have your student participate in this FUN event that will help them grow along side their Taekwondo friends! Medals will be given to everyone that participates in each event and GOLD medals for those that win their divisions. So, if you compete in 10 events you can get 10 medals! Overall Grand Champions for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels will be awarded a display sword!

Parents…drop off your kids for a night on the town or just relax in the silence at home. Kids..bring your best Martial arts moves and get ready to do some high flying kicks off of our mini trampolines. We are limiting this event to 30 students so please sign up as soon as you can. The cost is $25 for one student and $10 per additional family member or friend. There will be trampoline training, games, pizza and a kid friendly movie. Saturday, March 16th from 6:00-10:00pm.

It’s the best way to teach everyone the value of healthy competition. As many of you know, Taekwondo is an Olympic Sport. All students can expect to not only have a great time, but learn the importance of SPORTSMANSHIP, gain CONFlDENCE and get a sense of accomplishment through competition!
Each division will be made up of 3-4 students. Divisions will be setup by same rank, age, size. Medals will be given out to each participant in each division for each event. A Denda Academy Gold Medal will be given out to the winner of each division. For Forms competition, Advanced Belts (Red belts and above) can perform a form from their previous belt or the belt they are working on currently. For Sparring competition, Orange, Green & Purple Belts will compete in Point Sparring. Blue through Black Belt will compete in Olympic Sparring. White and Yellow Belts cannot spar but can participate in all of the other events. What to bring: Wear your favorite workout clothes or just come as you are. This month’s Parents Night Out theme is Back to School Olympics. We will be playing fun and crazy school related games Olympic style! Gold medals and ribbons will be given out to the kids and we’ll have all things Olympic. Kids can pick which country they want to represent and compete for prizes. Fun way to get kids excited about getting back into school mode. Crazy Back to School Olympic games, awards, movie, and pizza!
